The OUI hat

Woven by hand using an off-loom needle technique, the OUI hat is one of three very unique hats designed to be part of a limited series of three.  The weaving on this hat is composed of a particularly fine central band of basket weave flanked by two bands of open weaving.  The hat is signed.  The original design is completely unique and will never be replicated.  The word OUI was hand-embroidered using the ancient “couche” technique.  The hat foundation is an upcycled baseball cap that was stripped of its original machine embroidery.  The stripping process, the hand woven technique and the use of natural hand-dyed linen will create a natural worn look that will evolve over time.  The hat is a standard size cap with adjustable Velcro strap.
