This week's story was written with my talented daughter, Isabel. When Isabel left for college, she and I would send a coloring book, back and forth to each other. We colored one page at time and wrote the story to go with it. The book filled up. After Isabel graduated and took a full-time job she surprised me with a new blank book titled "642 things to write about". That book has been making its way between our two houses and even though we don't write regularly any more we do delight in each other's stories.
I just couldn't resist to share this one with you, about hippos and motherhood and of course, Christmas.
The illustration is a 4x6" pen and ink drawing, hand-embroidered in a vintage pink cotton my own mom sent me from France.
The hippo will be given away on Wednesday January 3, 2018. If you are interested or know a child in dire need of a hippo email me at pmn@pmneist.com to put your name in the hat.
