Mayhem

This is what my studio looked like this afternoon: threads everywhere, cardboard, paper, mat cutter, scissors, more scissors, the sewing machine, the lamps, the boxes, the beads, the pencils. I love the chaos that comes from being in the midst of creating something absolutely new.

Then there's my bill-paying day job where my desk is vast and pristine and paper is confined to a single file cabinet.

For whatever reason, I need these opposite workspaces to feel balanced and happy. I need the spreadsheets and conference calls to smooth the mayhem of creation. It works.
